Teams entered into the 2008 T2 Rally are :

Team Suspect Device

Team Suspect Device (Ger Hanrahan & Brian O’Brien)

Established in 1993, the amalgamation of Ger and Bob originally took the name Disturbed Engineering. In their underground facility in East Galway, Ireland they develop multi-fuel burning road projectiles. Rumoured to have taken the order and payment to supply Saddams weapons of mass destruction, they allegedly kept the cash and sent him 6 Skodas and a Charlie Landsborough album instead. Their daily work includes forging engines from red hot metal, finding everything funny due to paint thinner fumes and attempting to break the speed of light on wheels. Team Suspect Device came into being when the ghost of Mother Teresa of Calcutta appeared to Ger and Bob and said “Go forth to Africa my children”. “No ya bollocks” they replied but in hindsight reckoned it’d be a laugh.

Vehicle: 1964 Morris Minor. 1098cc. Has run for 10 minutes in the last 15 years. Bring it on!

Team Pro Sanctimonia Mori (Dave Rossiter & John Shepherd)

Tackling the Middle East route our aim is to unearth ancient Aztec gold (they were in Africa, right?). Failing that we’re creating a hybrid car from Minor parts (post landmine) and Camels, just to make Ken Livingstone shit a brick.

Vehicle: 1988 Nissan Micra Colette. 998cc.

Team Leesbian

Team Leesbian (Lee Bolding & Greg Veit)

Lee is entering in a Suzuki SJ410 jeep, which is currently being lovingly restored from quite a wreck. Lee has previously ridden across The Himalayas, raced rickshaws across India, ridden across Norway and Sweden in the Scandanavian winter and dirt biked in The Pyrenees, He’s also entered into the Australian Postie Bike challenge and the Budapest-Bamako rally.

Greg is acting as Lee’s mechanic, and has the unenviable job of making the beast roadworthy.

Due to a change of plans, Lee is now driving a Daihatsu Sportrak (the SJ 410 will be restored for the Budapest-Bamako rally).

Vehicle: Daihatsu Sportrak. 1600cc.

Team Gammy Gecko

Team Gammy Gecko (Michael ‘Mick’ Davoren)

“Mick the Mick” is one of the few remaining Immortal Kings roaming this planet. His history is surrounded in myth and legend. Although one thing is known, he has a challenge in life to fulfil. His quest is to delve into the depths of the planet for the ultimate fusion of metals to fashion the one piston ring to rule them all. A ring so powerful that a two stroke engine rebuild will never be needed again.
After some say a millennia of searching the wetlands, highlands, deserts, forests and drinking establishments with no luck so far it is believed that he has been side tracked by the infamous girls of Nivea. Although all attempts to find this sacred place has been futile his quest continues.

Vehicle: Yamaha Super Tenere. 750cc.
